8th Grade Overveiw

This year I have grown in Persistence. I have become better at getting my work turned in on time, plus working on assignments and making them great! For example for my reflections specifically my Chinese reflection, it was not perfect at first so it took a lot of revision and critique to make sure it was good for my portfolio. It took a lot of time to wright and it also took a lot of persistence to keep at it, and to not give up and say it’s good enough. I need to work on creativity and inquiry because I need to make sure I understand how to do it and how to communicate them well.

This specific worksheet shows how counting in Chinese might be harder than it looks. We did a fun worksheet on counting/writing Chinese numbers. The first thing I did was a connect the dot worksheet. It started at one then we drew a line to number two, and so on. This was really fun. Plus it was actually pretty easy. If you know numbers 1-10 then you will be able to write the numbers 1-99. There is a pattern that numbers 1-99 follow, you might catch it. On the back we practiced writing the Chinese characters of the numbers.

  The Body Is Really Weird                                        Science
 

This is my finished science project. If you want to know more information about it you can go to my science reflection. But that is beside the point. Our goal for this project. Was to represent the different body systems, repertory, circulatory, and digestive. My partner and I made a type of interactive book. Inside it goes through the different body parts and gives information about how it works and its purpose for the body.

Vocabulary was one of the harder things I have done here at STEM. But it really was not that hard once you used really helpful study guides and tools. Then it was understandable, at least for me. Without these study guides I was not successful and had a bad grade for it. Trust me I would know!

         Math

Why does math have to be so difficult? No one really knows except for the math teachers. In my opinion they are wizards. But that is beside the point. This whole reflection is about the algebraic tiles unit and how we did a lot of different assignments and papers to help us better understand it.

Making a video about youtube videos
                                     Genius Hour

This is a project that is really interesting and very cool. We got to pick our own topic and could pick whatever... It had to be something that we were interested in, and had to be able to  learn from, or others. For me i picked "how can i teach myself and others to make good, proffesional youtube videos"
