This year in Wellness and Fitness I have personally grown in cardiovascular endurance. I think I have grown in this topic because at the start of the year when we had just started our warm up jog/continuous jog I got tired really fast. But now in the second quarter I have been able to practice from the first day of school. I learned new techniques for breathing while you jog and just giving I practice from the first day of school to now. I can now run for almost six minutes and not be that tired once we are done and start our stretching. So over the time from the first day of school to now I have made a big difference from how far and how long I can jog. That is why I think that this shows growth.
For my first artifact I am going to use my Fitness Assessment Log: 7th grade. I think this artifact shows growth because on my first Pacer Test I got a total of 51 laps. On my second pacer test I got a total of 53 laps. So this shows how I got more laps in my second attempt. Even though these different pacer tests were far apart (first one was dated on 8/22/14 and my second on 10/14/14) It still shows how I grew in cardio vascular endurance because I got more laps on the second attempt then I did on the first. Also this shows how I worked from time to time in practicing this specific skill. I practiced by doing different activities at school. Some of these activities can include walk/jog which is where we walk or jog for the whole period. Some others can include Steal the Gold, Four Corner Capture and different types of tag games. Doing these activates helped me become better at breathing and in just how long I could run I also practiced at home. I did activities such as running around the block at least once a weak. I
also played tag, Frisbee, riding bikes, playing with dogs and playing any sports in my back yard. Because of this practicing and playing I got to improve my cardiovascular endurance.
For my second Artifact I am going to use my Fitness Data Chart 1st Quarter. I think this artifact shows growth because it shows how I got more step as the time went by. I think that this is important because it shows how I got further as the time progressed. On my first walk/jog I got 3,666 steps and on my second walk/jog I got 4,194 and on my third I got 4,664 steps and on my forth I got 5,085 steps. So seeing how I got more steps as time went on shows how I was working harder each time we had a walk/jog and it shows how I practiced and it got better over time. I practiced by doing different breathing exercises by running and trying different breathing tactics that we were taught, I tried to figure out which one worked the best for me. Some of the breathing exercises that I practice include in through your nose and out though your mouth. Some others that I have done are trying to breath as slow as I could to try not to increase my heart rate. Once I found my best breathing exercise I started running more and more trying to increase my skill of running long distances in short amounts of time. I practiced this by running around my block almost every day. I started out only doing 1 lap a week and then in the second week moved on to two laps and I continued to increase my laps around the block. After about 4 weeks of doing this I felt as if I was doing a very good job in breathing so I stopped. I pushed myself to the limit while trying to practice this skill. It was not easy but I got through it. I think another term I took away from this would how I can now run at a steadier pace and I can keep that pace for a long time. The most time I have held a steady pace was for probably around 15 minutes! The reason that this artifact shows growth is because as time went on I worked harder in harder and my R.P.E increased over time. That is why this artifact shows growth.
So again this is why I think I show growth in my cardiovascular endurance. So I think I grew because I got more laps in my pacer tests and I got more steps in walk /jog and even I tried harder and harder as time went by. Also how I practiced really hard to reach this goal not just to get a good grade in fitness class but also so I would be able to do stuff in the future that I bet lots of people can’t do or don’t have the motivation to do it. So that is why I think this shows growth.
So overall I have become better in cardio vascular endurance because I can run farther and faster and for longer distances. That shows how I have grown because in past years it was harder for me but know I am at the point where I can run fast, far, and at long distances before getting tired.

This is the fitness Assesment log. This was a sheet were we recorded how well we did on a specific topic or box seen above. The main goal was doing better the second time.
This is continuos jog. It is a 6 minute video of us jogging for a specific amount of time without stopping. I happen to be wearing the black AERO shirt.
